Good Quality Automotive Window Tinting

You’ve seen high-end automobiles such as limos and other expensive cars with dark windows that you could not peer through. But this privacy isn’t really just booked for the wealthy. You can have tinted windows on your car and take pleasure in the benefits of privacy and defense from the extreme summer sun.

Tinted car glass significantly minimizes glare from the sun. We’ve all been traveling in an automobile without tinted windows and have come across blinding sunlight that glares off the windshield. Tinted glass filters this glare and makes it simpler for your eyes to change. When you own, security is essential. You must never need to take your eyes off the road because a glare triggers you to look away. Tinted car windows will remove the have to avert from the road so you can stay alert and see exactly what remains in front of you at all times.

Once you have your pattern all set, you can now then use it in your automobile while carefully taking note of the precise way you did as on the outside window. It would be best if you can use a squeegee to eliminate air bubbles and working from the center then upwards. You can then now work yourself from top to bottom using the squeegee to get rid of any air bubbles as well as the spray option used on the window.

When the tint film is in location, use a razor blade to cut excess movies overlapping each other. The procedure can be done on the front mirror to make it much easier for you to use the tint. Now start dealing with the opposite windows by thoroughly making a pattern based upon the size of the windows and utilizing it to cut the film into ideal sizes. Make certain you utilize a squeegee again to get rid of any air bubbles. Some final touches and cleaning and you are done with using tint on your vehicle’s windows.

When you see limos and other luxury chauffeured vehicles with tinted windows, the main factor is more than likely for personal privacy. But tinted car glass also provides protection against harmful UV light rays and heat. The continuous heat that the interior of your automobile is bombarded with throughout hot summer season day’s triggers the fabric and leather to deteriorate more quickly than if it was kept cool. Automobile window tinting keeps the inside of your vehicle much cooler than it is when compared with the interior of a vehicle without any tinting defense on the vehicle glass. The tinted windows prevent cracking, fading and the drying out of products inside the car, consisting of leather, material upholstery and plastic trim. Since the interior of the car is much cooler, the air conditioner will not have to work as difficult to keep you cool when traveling. That equate into less gas used, and cash conserved in fuel costs.

UV light rays aren’t simply harmful to your automobile’s interior. Sunburn on our skin is brought on by exposure to these light rays. It is simple to obtain sunburn when owning, even if your windows are closed. Regular vehicle glass does not filter as much of the sun’s harmful rays, so it is possible for you to still get a nasty burn. With vehicle window tinting, your vehicle glass can filter out UV light. You will not have to stress over being sunburn on one half of your body, even on the longest of journey.

Headlight Repair Made Simple

Most people do not realize how important their headlights are and actually take them for granted. Headlights are what allows you to see at night and, according to the National Institute for Highway Safety, are the number one reason for night time accidents. Dim, cloudy, ineffective and improperly aimed headlight lenses in need of varying degrees of repair are the culprit. An average of 9 out of every 10 cars on the road today has dirty or yellowed headlights that greatly reduce vision and need to be replaced, repaired or professionally cleaned, AAA Foundation for traffic safety.

Not only does this make it difficult for you to see, but it also makes it difficult for other drivers to see you. This greatly multiplies the risks of an accident and is just not safe. Cars or trucks with bad headlights in need of repair are simply down right dangerous. These same headlights can easily be fixed with a little headlight repair. This same headlight repair can also help avoid numerous accs and make for greater driving safety.

How does one go about headlight repair for their car? First off and the easiest of the repairs is to restore cloudy headlights. 90% of cars have some degree of cloudiness and damage to the lenses which will diminish light output. This can easily be fixed with a headlight repair kit. The headlight repair kit has been proven so effective that it is backed by numerous government agencies and it even earned a federal patent. It is a very economical alternative to replacing the headlights which can cost as much as $300 each. “Clean the headlights or have them professionally restored and repaired (our department uses headlight repair on all our police cruisers and department vehicles. Dirty headlights will decrease visibility by as much as 90%,” New York Police Traffic Division’s Traffic Safety Team. Headlight repair works to restore your cloudy headlights to new again and will increase your safety at the same time.

A second important item is to have your headlights properly aimed. Headlights that are improperly aimed can throw off depth perception, make it harder to see, and increase night time glare. Glare from oncoming cars is also a big factor in night time crashes. Even if your lenses are only slightly off the mark it can still greatly reduce your ability to see and greatly increase night time glare. A quick inspection can reveal whether your lenses are correctly aimed or not. For a small fee they can quickly calibrate and correct your lenses. Proper aiming and calibration of your headlights is an essential part of headlight repair.

Brighter bulbs should be made standard on all cars and an essential part of headlight repair. After removing the cloudiness and correctly aiming your lenses, you should look into some of the brighter replacement bulbs that have greater illumination fields and have higher light output. With recent advances, xeon bulbs and similar are not very expensive and can greatly increase your field of vision and your safety at night. They normally start at around $5-$10 a piece and will increase your light brightness by as much as 35% or more. Brighter bulbs add a nice finishing touch to a proper headlight repair. It not only looks better but will be that much safer.

There you have it, headlight repair made simple. If enough people realize how important this is maybe they would follow these steps to fix and repair improperly lit, broken and cloudy headlights and they would no longer be the number one cause of night time accidents. And hopefully many unnecessary car accidents and fatalities would be avoided.

Automotive Tip – Before You Replace the Brakes, Check Your Tires

For months, I had gone from one mechanic to another, seeking to understand why my car was making a scraping sound when I applied pressure to my brakes. The mechanics assured me that the problem was not the brakes. Yet, the problem grew worse.

The scraping sound was like a phantom. It was elusive at best. One moment it was so loud that other drivers would stare as my car moved past them. The next moment, there was no sound at all.

As a woman, I admit that I’m leery of mechanics. We have all been told that mechanics prey on defenseless women often taking us for hundreds of dollars. I don’t know if this is factual, but I believe it improves the odds if you have an idea what is wrong. Maybe this is why I feared being jerked around at first. But, it didn’t make sense. Neither mechanic had a thing to gain by my not getting new brakes.

The culminating event was when I took my son to get his driver’s license. The officer at the DMV reprimanded me for the poor condition of my brakes. In fact, he said, “I almost didn’t give your son his driver’s license because your brakes made so much noise. Several times, I came close to telling him to just pull the car over.” How embarrassing was that! I tried to explain the situation but he was emphatic that he had years of experience with cars and it was in fact the brakes.

I was not only perplexed but almost in tears as I could hear the scraping sound while driving and even worse when I put on the brakes. What a colossal headache!

At first, I was determined not to rush to another mechanic. Meanwhile, the scraping sound got worse and worse. I heard that awful sound like an 18-wheeler makes when coming to a stop. It was quite unnerving! I could no longer ignore it.

I took the car once again to my mechanic. He instructed me to back the car up then roll forward as he stood outside and listened. No scraping sound. I did this several times defending the fact that there was a problem. I asked the mechanic to drive the car for himself. He drove the car around the block several times and could not identify the scraping sound that I had complained about.

By this time, I was quite agitated, even more perplexed and embarrassed. I assured the mechanic that there was a problem and suggested that if we continued to drive, maybe we’d trigger it. The mechanic told me to jump in the passenger side and we drove even further. I rolled down my window and listened intently as we drove. After he made a sharp road turn, I heard the sound. Eureka! At first, he could not hear it. But I coached him to keep driving. He finally heard it.

We went back to the automotive repair shop and drove my car onto the lift. He and another mechanic did a variety of tests to recreate the sound and identify its cause. I sat and observed. Despite several tests, he could not recreate the sound. As I needed to get back home, the office arranged transportation for me. I silently prayed that they would identify and fix the problem. And most of all, that it not cost me goo-gobs of money.

A couple of hours passed then I received a call. The mechanic said that the problem was not the brakes — it was the tires. I couldn’t believe it. My front tires, appearing to be in good condition, were the problem. He explained that the sound only occurred when the tires were in contact with the road. I consented for the mechanic to replace both front tires. The scraping stopped.

Admittedly, I am by no means a mechanic. But I wanted to write this article to caution that you get your tires checked before you spend hundreds of dollars in brake work that you might not need.

Auto Body Repair

Auto Body Repair is a technique that restores a damaged vehicle to its original condition. The Auto Body Repair entails repairing and properly matching the paint on vehicle bodies, repairing vehicle frames, and understanding mechanical, electrical and electronic systems.

Some of the processes used in Auto Body Repair are shop safety, automotive body construction, tools, welding, sheet metal repair, frame straightening, repair materials, adjusting body panels, painting and refinishing, and estimating the cost.

Auto body repair also deals in welding light-gauge motor vehicle body panels and under-frame structures. The mechanic might have to learn to repair minor and major accidents and corrosion damage, and measure, realign and repair upper body and under-frame structures.

The variety and type of auto body repair materials and tools varies with the type and size of the damage. Bondo creams and hardeners might necessitate reinforcement with fiberglass for larger holes and dents in the body.

There are many options available on the Internet for students interested in taking up auto body repair as a full-time career. Mostly, the course includes auto body fundamentals, industry overviews, and safety procedures. Students would have to perform hands-on repairs in the areas of non-structural and structural repairs, MIG welding, plastics and adhesives, refinishing, and other related areas.

It is advisable that a customer conducts a wide search on the Internet and on the phone to find more details about auto body repair before calling in the mechanics. As the process is expensive, one should call these highly skilled mechanics only when necessary.
